Lent: Day 5

This morning I was fortunate to get the chance to catch up with a great friend and mentor in ministry.  We don’t live close anymore, so it’s always a treat to get to chat for a few minutes.  In Ann Weem’s poem “The Holy In The Ordinary” (the poem that gave me the idea for this Lenten discipline), she writes, “those of us who believe/ yearn to feel Your presence,/ yearn to be Your people.”  My friend speaks holy things to me and challenges me to be the person God is calling me to be.   She speaks the truth, even when I don’t want to hear it, and speaks it with love.  She helps me listen and discern the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life, and for these many things, I am grateful!  Thank you!
